terms of service

#using this

If you're reading this, you've agreed to a few simple things. The text, images, and design of this site belong to us unless attributed otherwise. You can quote short passages with credit, but please don't republish the catalogue, product photos, or written content wholesale. We list prices in good faith and they're current as of publication, but anything we list — prices, availability, hours, lead times — can change. We reserve the right to turn down a booking or order, with a full refund. We stand behind what we make: if something arrives damaged, isn't what you ordered, or doesn't meet the description, tell us and we'll repair, replace, or refund without argument. None of this affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer where you live.

What the writing here is — and is not

Articles on this site explain how pensions, ISAs and retirement drawdown work in general terms, often with UK schemes as the worked example. They are education, not a personal recommendation. Nothing here takes account of your income, tax residence, or attitude to risk, and reading an article does not create an adviser–client relationship. Before acting on anything — especially transfers out of defined-benefit schemes — take regulated advice in the jurisdiction that governs your scheme.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and any dispute connected with this website falls to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Niigata District Court. If one clause is found unenforceable, the rest continue to apply. Material changes to these terms are dated and announced on this page thirty days before they take effect.

Errors, updates and archived articles

Tax thresholds and allowance figures quoted in articles were correct in the tax year each piece was written, and articles are dated for exactly that reason. Older pieces are left up as an archive rather than silently rewritten; where a rule has changed materially, an editor's note is added at the top. If you spot a figure that has drifted out of date, write in and the note goes up within the week.

Comments and reader emails may be quoted in future articles in anonymised form — first name, rough age bracket, nothing that identifies you — and only where the question itself is the story.

Severability and headings

If any clause here is held unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continue in force. Section headings are for navigation, not interpretation. These terms were last revised on the date shown at the top of this page.
